After flying high against the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS last Monday, the Central Christian Crusaders came back down to earth. Central Christian took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lafayette Christian. Central Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lafayette Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
It was another big night for Carmen Bridges, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 18 rebounds for Lafayette Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Marta Oria, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lafayette Christian, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harvester Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Lafayette Christian, they will take on Flint River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Flint River Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 last Thursday.
