Irwin County is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since December 17, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Atkinson County by a score of 43-40. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Irwin County might have lost, but man, Sam Guy was a machine: he almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks. Guy has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times he's played. Caleb Barrett was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 10 points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brooks County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They breezed by Echols County to the tune of 75-37 on Friday. The matchup marked the Trojans' most dominant victory of the season.
Irwin County better keep an eye on Camauri Brinson. He was instrumental in Brooks County's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Trae Stevenson, who posted nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Brooks County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Irwin County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Brooks County, they moved to 5-12 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Irwin County has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Brooks County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
