Northridge is 2-7 against Bonneville since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Kiersten Carbone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonneville). They blew past Roy 14-4 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Lakers in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won four in a row.
Peyton Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, Samantha Mills was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee McAfee, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Bonneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.
Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bonneville, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
