Mount Airy Christian Academy stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Rockbridge Academy with a sharp 52-30 victory. The win was familiar territory for Mount Airy Christian Academy who now have nine in a row.
Mount Airy Christian Academy was led to victory by Caleb Stein and Joey Stanton. Stein scored seven points along with eight assists and four steals, while Stanton scored 22 points along with three steals and two blocks. Stanton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Alford, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mount Airy Christian Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Rockbridge Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cumberland Valley Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. Cumberland Valley Christian is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Rockbridge Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Living Grace Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
