New England knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Harding County likes a good challenge.
New England scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past South Heart 79-52 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win New England has posted since December 12, 2023.
Harding County lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 52-24 defeat at the hands of Lemmon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Harding County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Harding County saw an underclassman step up: Cohen Smith scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Evan Meyer, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Harding County struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
New England now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Harding County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
New England was dealt a bruising 80-37 loss at the hands of Harding County when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point New England was down 45-19.
