Casey County and Russell County are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Casey County barely beat Lincoln County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels blew past the Patriots 10-1 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Harmony Meece/Richardson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Elizabeth Forbes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Grace Mason was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Casey County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Russell County). They put the hurt on Wayne County with a sharp 18-5 victory on Tuesday.
Brylie Hardwick spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madelyn Roy, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Paisley Eads also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Casey County's record now sits at 19-11. As for Russell County, their record is now 18-7.
Casey County's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Russell County, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Casey County continue to outrun the ball?
Casey County came up short against Russell County in their previous matchup back in March, falling 6-3. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
