The nation's eighth-rated running back from
Wylie East (Texas) pledged to the Sun Devils at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio Texas on Saturday.
The 5-foot-9, 204-pound do-everything back picked Arizona State over Iowa, Michigan and Texas, among others. Benjamin is regarded as the 143rd overall recruit in the country according to 247Sports.
Benjamin, a 3.94 student, said he would have picked Arizona State even if he didn't play football. "It has everything that I'm looking for in a school," Benjamin said while making his announcement during the second quarter of Saturday's game on NBC's live broadcast. He was the second straight athlete to make their commitment to a Pacific-12 Conference school during the broadcast.

Benjamin did it all for the Raiders. He totaled 2,587 rushing yards and averaged 199 rushing yards per game with 36 total touchdowns. He also logged 562 passing yards, 262 punt yards and 3,221 total yards in leading Wylie East to the third round of the Texas Conference 5A D2 playoffs this season.
