Clinton Prairie is 8-1 against Eastern since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Clinton Prairie was handed a 37-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Frankfort on Tuesday. Clinton Prairie skirted past Frankfort 44-41. The win was just what Clinton Prairie needed coming off of a 62-25 loss in their prior match.
Clinton Prairie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abbey Swan, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Taylor Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Eastern suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Carroll at home and fell 72-32. While losing is never fun, Eastern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Carroll is ranked 45th).
Clinton Prairie's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16. As for Eastern, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Clinton Prairie against Eastern in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 52-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton Prairie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
