Millard North extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Clara Welker. The Millard North Mustangs escaped with a win on Monday against the Bellevue West Thunderbirds by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46 thanks in part to Welker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high.

Several Thunderbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stevie Harley, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points along with eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Da?Nyla Tatum, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points.

Millard North's record now sits at 6-1. As for Bellevue West, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Millard North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-48 victory against Millard South on the 31st. Bellevue West has also already played their next matchup, a 63-55 win against Omaha North on the 7th.
