The Mahwah Thunderbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sussex County Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sussex County Tech took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mahwah, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Mahwah strolled past Dumont with points to spare, taking the game 27-13. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mahwah.
Preston Duffy was on fire: he rushed for 249 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Joey Demarco, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Sussex County Tech's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 35-16 fall against Vernon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Andrew Baker, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Baker's longest rush was for an incredible 95 yards.
Mahwah's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Sussex County Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
