Basketball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Erie

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vista PEAK Prep). They managed a 64-59 victory over the Erie Tigers on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bison also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Vista PEAK Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Larry Mosley led the charge by putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mitchell Oliver was another key player, posting 14 points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher Smith, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Owen, who posted 14 points.

The win got Vista PEAK Prep back to even at 2-2. As for Erie, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2.

Vista PEAK Prep will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against DSST: Montview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Erie, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Boulder at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Boulder's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
