Even though The Huntington Park Spartans have not done well against the South Gate Rams recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Huntington Park really took it to South Gate for the full four quarters, racking up a 40-0 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Huntington Park as they're now sitting on four straight.
Huntington Park can attribute much of their success to Noah Mancillas, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown. Benjamin Coca also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Huntington Park's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Victor Espinoza and his two sacks.
Huntington Park's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for South Gate, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Huntington Park will head out on the road to face off against Venice at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Venice is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
