Fairfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took down the Wawasee Warriors 54-38. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Wawasee's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Akase, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 14 points. Nolan Holzwart was another key player, putting up eight points.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will head out to square off against Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wawasee, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Angola at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
