Softball Recap: Del Sol Wins Going Away Against Valley

Del Sol's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Valley Vikings as the Del Sol Dragons made off with a 17-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Kaitlyn Chairsell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Chairsell was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Breanna Figueroa was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Adaya Lash was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Del Sol now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Del Sol will face off against The Meadows School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Meadows School has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something Del Sol will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley, they will square off against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
