It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Gregori Jaguars can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 48-6 loss at the hands of Edison. While losing is never fun, Gregori can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Edison is ranked 123rd).
Despite the loss, Gregori still got an impressive performance from Michael Marsden, who rushed for 83 yards, and also picked up 53 receiving yards.
Kiaza Calhoun had a dynamite game for Edison, rushing for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Calhoun's longest rush was for an incredible 87 yards. Isaac Sagapolu did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Gregori and nudges their season record down to 7-4. As for Edison, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Gregori does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Edison will head out on the road to face off against Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
