Chris Barela Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is La Junta's Chris Barela, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Barela rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run.
The win snapped La Junta's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. Barela and La Junta will take on Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Joseph Schoenberger Came Up Big in Woodland Park's 42-6 Win
Marqus Joseph Schoenberger was instrumental in extending Woodland Park's winning streak to seven on Friday. Joseph Schoenberger was dynamite, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 27 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending a pass.
Woodland Park pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Joseph Schoenberger and Woodland Park will venture away from home to square off against Manitou Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Moore Posts Huge Game in 28-14 Loss
Manitou Springs had to settle for second on Thursday, but Logan Moore sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the loss, Moore was still balling out as he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately for Lamar, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Moore. Moore rushed for 113 yards on only 15 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Thunder duked it out back in October of 2023.

Trey Reed Dazzles in Woodland Park Win
Woodland Park picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Trey Reed. Reed did his part (and then some), rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries for the 'W'. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
For the season, Reed has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 79.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 11.14 rushing yards per game.

Woodland Park Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Parker Shreeve
Woodland Park picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Parker Shreeve. Florence had no answer to Shreeve as he picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles.
For the season, Shreeve has averaged 7.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 5 sacks. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had four receiving touchdowns. This year he is already up to eight.
