The North Creek Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Kennedy Catholic Lancers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Creek is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, North Creek came up short against Eastlake and fell 24-14. While losing is never fun, North Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Eastlake is ranked ninth).
North Creek's loss came about despite a quality game from Eric Battle Jr, who gained 95 total yards and a touchdown. Battle Jr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 57-7 win over Mt. Rainier. The result was nothing new for Kennedy Catholic, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Eastlake's win bumped their season record to 8-1 while North Creek's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
North Creek won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, slipping by Kennedy Catholic 43-42. Does North Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kennedy Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
