The Kingman Academy Tigers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Heritage Academy 43-40. The win was all the more spectacular given Kingman Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Heritage Academy is ranked 117th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingman Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Anderson, who scored eight points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Anderson posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh White, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Kingman Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Heritage Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingman Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mohave Accelerated at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: JAXON HONEGGER and White. As for Heritage Academy, they will head out on the road to take on NFL Yet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: ABEL RUIZ and Cameron Irby.
