The Elmwood-Murdock Knights fell victim to the Shelby-Rising City Huskies''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Huskies on the road and fell 58-0. Having soared to a lofty 76 points in the game before, Elmwood-Murdock couldn't push the score so high this time.
Riley Wilson threw for 73 yards on six of 18 attempts. Kayden Bacon was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Reagan Vonrentzell rushed for 27 yards.
Gabe Dutton-mofford went supernova for Shelby-Rising City, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Logan Lindsley also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Elmwood-Murdock's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Shelby-Rising City, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Elmwood-Murdock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Shelby-Rising City will head out on the road to face off against Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Exeter-Milligan/Friend is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
