Sadly, the Bloomington Purple Raiders are still looking for their first win of the season after 25 matchups. They were outmatched by Rantoul on the road and fell 70-37. Bloomington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rantoul apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.
Bloomington's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Evan Reed and Rob Clark. Reed scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Clark scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reed has scored all season.
Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 0-25. As for Rantoul, their victory bumped their record up to 6-18.
Bloomington will be playing at home against Normal West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomington is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Normal West a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Rantoul, they will head out on the road to take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
