Suburban One - Continental recap September 24, 2013
Pennridge extended the longest winning streak in Suburban One - Continental this week by beating Academy Park, 28-13. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
North Penn was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league. The Knights defeated Central Bucks East 27-0 earlier in the week.
Aj Curotto put up the best numbers through the air as Souderton fell to Central Bucks West. He had a total of 9 completions for 121 yards. Curotto's favorite target this week was Manny Nieves, who caught 2 passes for 75 yards.
Brandon Ilkiw was the best receiver in the league this week as the Patriots lost to North Penn. Ilkiw racked up 10 receptions for 106 yards.
Mike Class was a beast in the backfield as Pennridge defeated the Knights.
Class was a passing and rushing force as Jeff Hollenbach's team beat Academy Park.
Class was the most successful running back in Suburban One - Continental this week. He ran for 231 yards on 21 carries as the Rams fell to Richard Beck's team. Ryan Sterling also contributed to the rushing game with 50 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, John Donnelly's team's Zach Nelsen and Ilkiw have proven to be a lethal combination. Nelsen has thrown for 882 yards this season, while Ilkiw, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 19 catches for 322 yards. Class from Pennridge leads the league in rushing with 521 yards.
As it stands, the Bucks are in third, while the Rams are in first.
The Knights took down the Patriots 27-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
