The Penns Grove Red Devils lost against the Deptford Spartans back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Penns Grove took a hard 70-51 fall against Deptford. Penns Grove has struggled against Deptford recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mekhi Ballard, who scored 16 points. Ballard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Giomar Conrad, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Penns Grove's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Deptford, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.
Penns Grove will square off against Schalick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deptford, they will square off against Gloucester City at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Gloucester City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Wednesday.
