The Onekama Portagers will face off against the Suttons Bay Norsemen at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Onekama is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Onekama's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Brethren 13-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Portagers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Jacob Brown made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Like Onekama, Suttons Bay also got a great game from a two-way player: Ty Brenner. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Brenner has allowed since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Suttons Bay's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Onekama has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. It's a different story for Suttons Bay, though, as they've only averaged .328. Will they be able to contain Onekama's hitters?
Onekama got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Suttons Bay by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Portagers repeat their success, or do the Norsemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
