Smith-Cotton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Eldon 63-40. The victory was familiar territory for Smith-Cotton who now have three in a row.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Harrisonville had to settle for a 50-47 defeat against Warrensburg on Friday. Harrisonville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Smith-Cotton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Harrisonville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Smith-Cotton couldn't quite finish off Harrisonville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 57-55. Can Smith-Cotton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
