 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Ben Nunez, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Paul Kakoliris, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Metea Valley had to endure  a  four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Central onto the board and left with  a   10-0  victory  on Saturday. Metea Valley's win was all the more impressive since Central was averaging only 3.71 runs allowed on the season.
 DeKalb pushed their record up to 19-11 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Metea Valley, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 9-16.
 DeKalb skirted past Metea Valley  9-7 in their previous meeting  back in April. Will DeKalb repeat their success,  or does  Metea Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
