Basketball Recap: Christ Covenant Takes a Loss

Christ Covenant lost against Faith Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Christ Covenant Spartans took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors.

Defeat or not, Christ Covenant got some senior leadership from JD Dill and Jakob Ange. Dill dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards, while Ange posted 16 points. Dill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Karson Bagnal also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Christ Covenant was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Christian Academy only racked up five assists.

Leading Faith Christian Academy to victory were Jaxon Howard and Ibn Triplin. Howard went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points, while Triplin went 7 for 11 en route to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Triplin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Kelly, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and five boards.

Christ Covenant has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Faith Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Christ Covenant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-38 loss against Community Christian on the 16th. Faith Christian Academy has also already played their next game, a 63-35 win against Gramercy Christian on the 17th.
