The Birchwood Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 80-40 loss at the hands of Cook Inlet Academy. Birchwood Christian has struggled against Cook Inlet Academy recently, as their match on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Severns, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Worland, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Cook Inlet Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alek McGarry, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McGarry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian McGarry, who scored 23 points.
Birchwood Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Cook Inlet Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Birchwood Christian will be playing at home against King Cove at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in King Cove's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cook Inlet Academy, Cook Inlet Academy and Tok will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tok is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
