Chaeli Gutzmann was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Calvin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Riverside University/Meir always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Reagan got themselves on the board against Milwaukee King on Thursday, but Milwaukee King never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Generals.
Brooke Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Curry, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Bri Byrd was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
Milwaukee Reagan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside University/Meir, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside University/Meir has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .508. However, it's not like Milwaukee Reagan struggles in that department as they've averaged .584. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
