Cambria Heights has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Conemaugh Township Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cambria Heights will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, everything went Cambria Heights' way against West Shamokin as Cambria Heights made off with a 41-15 victory. The result was nothing new for Cambria Heights, who have now won three contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
Stephen Nelen and Garrett Jasper were among the main playmakers for Cambria Heights as the former gained 116 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Jasper 's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Conemaugh Township, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They were just a hair shy of victory two Fridays ago and fell 22-21 to Conemaugh Valley.
Jon Updyke put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes.
Cambria Heights' win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-2. To be fair, it's not like the team was facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-5 Homer-Center and 3-4 West Shamokin (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.3% over those games). As for Conemaugh Township, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-7.
