Jasper let Ella Erny and Olivia Young run wild. Erny scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Young got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI. That's the most runs Erny has posted since back in May of 2024. Carlee Rogers was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Jasper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southridge only posted a batting average of .211.
The victory was the third in a row for Jasper, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Southridge, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Coming up, Jasper is taking a road trip to take on Evansville Reitz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Southridge, they will face off against Loogootee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
