3A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Father Lopez fell to Melbourne Central Catholic 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Spencer was a bright spot for the Green Wave, as he threw for 78 yards in the loss.
Rudi Outar was the best receiver in 3A District 2 this week as Trinity Catholic fell to Clearwater Central Catholic. Outar racked up 5 receptions for 125 yards.
The Celtics' Reid Carlton and Outar led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Carlton has thrown for 753 yards this season, while Outar, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 16 catches for 283 yards. P.K. Yonge's Anthony Andrews leads the league in rushing yards with 510.
At the moment, the Blue Wave are in second, while Father Lopez is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Trinity Catholic takes on Maclay. John Brantley's team has allowed 102 points this season, while the Marauders have given up 108. The Celtics allowed 38 points last week as they lost to the Marauders.
P.K. Yonge led the league in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Hawthorne. Andrews ran for 135 yards in the win.
