After flying high against the Summit Charter Bears last Monday, the Andrews Wildcats came back down to earth. Andrews took a 78-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves on Tuesday. Andrews was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Andrews' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Rattler, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Rattler is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Jailen Powell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Teesateskie, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Smith, who scored 18 points.
Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Cherokee, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrews will take on the Black Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Robbinsville is ranked 277th, while the Wildcats are ranked 275th). As for Cherokee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
