Dodson is 9-1 against Nashua since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Dodson Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Nashua Porcupines at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Dodson is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Dodson pushed their score all the way to 64 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Dodson was down 59-36 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lance KillEagle, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Junior Stiffarm, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Nashua was beaten by Lustre Christian 70-32 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Nashua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Lustre Christian is ranked 34th).
Dodson has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Nashua, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Dodson barely slipped by Nashua when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 61-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dodson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
