On Tuesday, Greenbrier was able to grind out a solid win over Macon County, taking the game 54-43. Given Greenbrier's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Macon County is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Nolan Carson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Scurlock, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Greenbrier has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Macon County, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Greenbrier will be playing at home against White House at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. White House has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last five matches. Macon County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Station Camp at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
