The Oyler MAD Hatters kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to DePaul Cristo Rey. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Britain Starks was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 28 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Fairbanks, who scored 6 points.
Oyler's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Oyler will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shroder Paideia Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they will head out on the road to face off against Spencer Center at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
