Dakota is 0-10 against the Bulldogs since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dakota Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aquin Catholic Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Dakota will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 124th).
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Dakota, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-38 loss to the Indians. Dakota has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite their loss, Dakota saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Madison Binder, who scored nine points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Woodsmall, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Aquin Catholic put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Durand 65-32 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Aquin Catholic sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Dakota's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Aquin Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
