The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Easton Area Rovers at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
Last Friday, Hatboro-Horsham humbled New Hope-Solebury with a 55-26 victory. That 55-26 margin sets a new team best for Hatboro-Horsham this season.
Hatboro-Horsham can attribute much of their success to Sean Mccue, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Ryan Smith, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 assists, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Mccue scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Shane Phillips, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Easton Area had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Pocono Mountain East 55-54 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Easton Area's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Pocono Mountain East is ranked 144th).
Andrew Hoadley was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Algee Macon, who scored nine points.
Hatboro-Horsham's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for Easton Area, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
