The Destin Sharks will be playing at home against the Freeport Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Destin, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-49 loss to Bay. Destin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Imaran Harris, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Tyler Flynt was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Freeport's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Freeport and Bozeman wasn't particularly close, with Freeport falling 61-46. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while Bozeman is ranked 79th).
The losses dropped Destin to 2-2 and Bay to 2-1.
Destin was able to grind out a solid win over Freeport in their previous matchup back in January, winning 65-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Freeport's Nick Gikas, who scored 35 points along with 6 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Destin to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
