After a string of three wins, the Springstead Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (63), Springstead still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Springstead had strong showings from Nick Cordero, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, and Austin Nicholson, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Niko Cordello, who scored eight points.
Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Central, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Springstead will head out on the road to challenge Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
