The McKeel Academy Wildcats struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Miramar Patriots had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. McKeel Academy fell 56-44 to Miramar. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McKeel Academy has scored all season.
McKeel Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alex Sessoms, who scored 12 points. Sessoms scored a full 27.3% of McKeel Academy's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vann Osmon, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Joshua Skinner was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds for Miramar. The match was Skinner 's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jared Williams, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
McKeel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Miramar, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
McKeel Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against DeLand at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully DeLand focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. Miramar and Dwyer will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Dwyer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Saturday.
