Pamlico County came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Lejeune Devil Pups get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Sarah Scott made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Scott was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. In other batting news, Avery Cain and Taylor McHenry did most of the damage at the plate: Cain went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while McHenry scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave McHenry a new career-high. Hailey Shamblin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Pamlico County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lejeune only posted an OBP of .200.
