The Merit Preparatory Academy Knights posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They blew past Freedom Prep Academy 56-14 on the road. With Merit Preparatory Academy ahead 38-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Lizbeth Diaz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with nine steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mary Moody, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Merit Preparatory Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-11. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merit Preparatory Academy and Rockwell will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Freedom Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pinnacle at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Pinnacle is ranked 122nd, while Freedom Prep Academy is ranked 136th).
