Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Murray

Murray proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Park City Miners. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three contests in a row.

Murray was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-104), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 13-25, 21-19.

Murray can attribute much of their success to Alexis Lee, who had five digs and five aces. That's the most aces Lee has posted over her last three matchups. Isabell Orgill was another key player, getting 18 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Murray was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in three consecutive games.

Murray's record now sits at 11-8. As for Park City, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Murray didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 18th. As for Park City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Juan Diego Catholic on the 18th.
