The team relied heavily on Addi Gibson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Hailee Mauk was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs.
Bath hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Continental got the win against Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.
Gracie Homier made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kenzie Searfoss was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ava Homier, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bath's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Continental, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bath has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Continental struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
