Lafayette Christian can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They breezed by Flint River Academy on the road to the tune of 76-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lafayette Christian has posted since December 5, 2023.
Lafayette Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bruno Tellez, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Joshua Zapata, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Tellez hasn't dropped below 15points for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Vakiel Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Shiloh Hills Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 59-41 bruising from Dominion Christian. Shiloh Hills Christian was down 43-23 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lafayette Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Things could have been worse for Lafayette Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-57 loss to Shiloh Hills Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
