The Keefe Tech Broncos have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 49-40 to Bay Path RVT on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Keefe Tech came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Bay Path RVT is ranked 286th).
Keefe Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was George Anastos, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Eidan Toppa, who scored 14 points.
Bay Path RVT was led to victory by Dale Nussey and Corey Scovil. Nussey scored 14 points, while Scovil dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scovil has scored all season. Zack Moody was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Keefe Tech's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bay Path RVT, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.
Keefe Tech will be playing at home against Ashland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bay Path RVT, they will head out on the road to face off against University Park at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
