If the Mountain House Mustangs were riding high off their 78-50 takedown of the Tracy Bulldogs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mountain House fell just short of Northgate by a score of 53-51. Mountain House lost against Northgate in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-47 score last time.
Grayson Boustead was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Northgate. Boustead also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Andjus, who scored 14 points.
Mountain House's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Northgate, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Mountain House and Venture Academy will face off at 7:15 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Venture Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 606 points over their last eight contests. Northgate and Alhambra will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Alhambra focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
