The Stansbury Stallions will take on the Cyprus Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Stansbury is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Stansbury proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Granger 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Stallions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Karmine Gallegos looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cooper Clark was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Olsen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cyprus faced Orem in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. Cyprus fell just short of Orem by a score of 5-4.
Nick Griffel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.
Stansbury pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cyprus, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Cyprus' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Stansbury has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Cyprus, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Stansbury keep running through batters, or will Cyprus buck the trend?
Stansbury beat Cyprus 7-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will Stansbury repeat their success, or does Cyprus has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
