The Community Baptist Conqueror's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 68-55 to Surry HomeSchool. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Surry HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John David Bunke, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Mauser, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Community Baptist has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Surry HomeSchool, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shining Light Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The timing is sure in Shining Light Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Community Baptist has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Surry HomeSchool, they will face off against Forsyth Home Educators at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
