The Calhoun Red Devils lost to the Valley Lumberjacks back in February, but the Calhoun Red Devils didn't allow the Valley Lumberjacks the same satisfaction on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for Calhoun in a 62-47 win over Valley.
Calhoun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Bennett, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The game was Bennett's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Owen Taylor, who scored 17 points.
The win got Calhoun back to even at 2-2. As for Valley, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will be home for the holidays to greet Gilmer County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilmer County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Valley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Madonna at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
